Welcome to the 2026 Summer Reading Program, Unearth a Story!

We’re starting off the summer reading program by learning to fly mini-drones at the library on Tuesday, June 2 at 2:00pm.
On Thursday, June 4, 3:00pm we’ll be visiting the Henry V. “La Burra” Morales Rec Center to play with circuits and experiment.
Over the June 5-8 weekend, drop by the library to build LEGO. Accept a building challenge, or free-build! The activity will be open Friday, June 5, 2:00-5:00pm, Saturday, June 6, 10:00am-3:00pm, and Monday, June 8, 9:00am-2:00pm.
If you are a LEGO fan, you might want to borrow some of the LEGO books, movies, comics, and shows available in the library’s Hoopla collection. Your library card entitles you to 4 borrows per month.
We are excited to welcome Ziggy Prothro of the New Mexico Office of Archaeological Studies to the library on Monday, June 8, 3:00pm, to lead an Adventure in Ice Age America! We’ll discuss the people who were living here long ago, what their environment was like, the technologies they used, and the animals that they interacted with. Join us for a hands-on exploration of exciting items in the OAS touch-and-feel tabletop museum like spears, atlatls, sabretooth skulls and mammoth teeth. Ziggy will talk, answer questions, and lead a fun activity experimenting with making tiny tracks in clay, like the ones archaeologists use to learn about the past!
More excitement to come!
