Freedom Riders Documentary Screening

Documentary preceded by a talk by Reverend Earseye Ross

Saturday January 13, 12:00pm – 2:30pm

To honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement, the library will be hosting a free screening of the PBS American Experience Documentary Freedom Riders. This award-wining documentary explores the story of the titular activist group that challenged racial segregation in interstate transportation during the height of The Civil Rights Movement.

Prior to the film, Reverend Earseye Ross, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Silver City, will speak about his involvement in The Civil Rights Movement. Rev. Ross was active in the bus boycotts and sit-in demonstrations surrounding public transportation and other civil liberty issues of the time.
