Eclipse Saturday, October 14

There will be an annular solar eclipse on October 14. In some places, the moon will be centered over the sun, leaving a “ring of fire” around the edges. Here in Silver City the sun will be over 80% obscured. The peak of the eclipse will be at 10:36am. We will have a viewing event on that day at 10am. Get eclipse glasses and take part in activities like a solar oven and scale of the solar system. All ages are welcome.
A limited number of eclipse glasses, along with informational handouts, will be available before Saturday. Ask at the library service desk.
