From June 1 – July 24 the Silver City Public Library will run our Summer Reading Program which has been adapted for at home and virtual participation!
How to participate: Complete a summer activity Bingo Card and win prizes! Download and print a Bingo Card here! Or drop by the library to pick one up! Cards will also be handed out at the summer lunch program. You can return completed bingo cards in the library’s drop box, by mailing it to us or by snapping a picture of it and emailing it to us at programs@silvercitymail.com or on Facebook.
Grab and Go Craft Bags: We will be giving out everything you need to make a cool craft at home! Pick up bags on the lawn every Friday this summer from 2:30-4:30.Check out our Facebook page to see a tutorial of every craft! Limit 1 per child, 60 per day – first come first serve.
Use the hashtag #SCPLSRP2020 to share your summer reading and crafts with us on Facebook or Instagram.

Live Stream Story Time is on Wednesdays at 10:00 am! Drop in and leave us a comment!
Special Online Performances: Watch out for special performances, cool crafts, projects and library virtual events on our Facebook page, website and Instagram! More events will be announced throughout the summer!
New Mexico Summer Reading – sponsored by the New Mexico Library Foundation is our states directory for a summer reading program near you. Also make sure to visit the events page for free online activities and performances all summer long. Many of these vents we will be promoting on our Facebook page as well.
Andy Mason is taking over our Facebook page! Monday June 22nd @ 10:30 am, join Andy and other libraries across NM for a special live Summer Reading performance!
Grand Prizes: Once you submit a completed bingo card, with all boxes checked, you will be entered to win a grand prize for your age group! You will be notified if you win by the end of July.
Prizes include: a 3D Printing Pen, Fujifilm Instax Instant Camera, Mini Drone with Camera, Kindle FIRE Tablet and much more!
The library Summer Reading Program would not be possible without the support of the Friends of the Library, who provide funding for reading logs, incentives, performers, equipment for activities, and everything else we need to make the program a success each year.
