There are some virtual activities happening for our community, organized by the Southwest Festival of the Written Word and its various committee members.
Poet Laureate Eve West Bessier is hosting a weekly “open mic” type reading using the video conferencing platform Zoom. It is an opportunity to share short pieces and to discuss writing. More details on on the Festival blog invitation.
Western New Mexico University’s Provost and Vice President Dr. Jack Crocker is hosting readings on Tuesdays on Facebook.
There is also a collaborative poem, called a renga, in progress. The renga is on the Festival Facebook page.
