Three Weeks of Tech Learning

There will be multiple opportunities for more technology learning in the next three weeks here at the library. First of all, we will have a digital services workshop Monday, October 21, 10:00am-11:30am. Learn how to get started with Libby, hoopla, Flipster, Kanopy, Rocket Languages, The New York Times, and Ancestry online. The presenter will touch upon GrantStation if there is time. Workshop attendees are encouraged to obtain a library card or check to make sure their library card is up-to-date before the workshop. No registration is required.

Two new computer class sessions are scheduled: basic computer operation on Wednesday, October 23, 3:00-5:00pm and internet and email basics on Wednesday, October 30, 3:00-5:00pm. The basic computer operations class will guide students through the basics of operation and usage for Windows computers.  We will be covering mouse and keyboard usage, program usage, file and folder structure, document creation and editing and other similar basic tasks that involve using computers. The internet and email basics class covers email and web browser usage and includes some internet safety tips.

Our next open technology lab is Wednesday, November 6, 3:00-5:00pm. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be available to answer all types of technology questions. We can also get you started on free library digital services. You’re invited to bring your device!
