A Rendezvous With Destiny

The Silver City Public Library is pleased to partner with the Allingham-Golding American Legion Post 18 to host a free public showing of the documentary film A Rendezvous with Destiny about the 101st Airborne Division in World War II. The film will be shown Friday, September 27 at 3:00pm at the Silver City Public Library.

A Rendezvous with Destiny centers around the stories of three of the last remaining 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles”. This documentary offers powerful and intense insights into the war experiences of World War II combat veterans Jim “Pee Wee” Martin, Dan McBride, and Dick Klein. Dan McBride was a local resident of Grant County.

Many thanks to producer Tracie Hunter for her permission to show the film, and thanks to American Legion Post Commander Joe Drake and Adjutant John Sterle for their assistance.

The film is based on the book Three of the Last WWII Screaming Eagles by LTC Jos Groen, and was directed and produced by Tracie Hunter. Elizabeth Suter and Tracie Hunter did the cinematography, Nick Martinolich and Elliot Levitt edited, and Ashley Andrews was associate producer.
