The Silver High School Band will perform live at Gough Park, Saturday, March 16, at 11:00 AM. This concert is free to the public! No tickets required.
“The Band will play music from the entire 2023-2024 school year, so that means that the community will get to enjoy music from our marching band show, Christmas concert/jazz band, stand tunes we play at football/basketball games, and our concert band contest pieces,” informs Azul Cano.
Silver City Public Library youth librarian Abigail Kipp reached out to Silver High Band director Azul Cano to arrange the collaboration. “We are so excited to have these amazing teens perform. It will be a wonderful day of music,” said Abigail Kipp.
“Library free concerts often feature traveling musicians from all over the country,” said Lillian Galloway, library assistant director. “In recent years, our goal has been to work more closely with local musical talent in addition to hosting out-of-town acts.” This is a fantastic opportunity for the whole community to hear the talented band students, including those who don’t normally attend school functions.
Stop by the library’s table at the event to get a library card, update your card, ask questions, and enter a prize drawing.
