Free Computer Classes July 19-29

Community Action Agency LogoThe Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico is visiting Silver City this week and next week to give free computer classes! There will be sessions on four different topics, each session lasting 6 hours total over two days. Basic Computer Skills: In this course, participants will learn the fundamentals of computers and get hands-on experience with Windows 7. July 19-20, 9:00am—12:00pm

Introduction to the Internet: In this Introduction to the Internet Course, participants will be given an overview of the Internet and what’s available on it. Search engines, E-mail, and online forms will be covered. July 21-22, 9:00am—12:00pm

Career Ready 101: WorkKeys is used by thousands of companies worldwide as a tool to help select, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performance workforce. In this class, participants will be introduced to an online, self-paced tutorial known as KeyTrain. This tool will help job-seekers be work-ready, identify and enhance the work skills that employers are looking for. July 26-27, 9:00am—12:00pm

Legitimate Ways to Make Extra Money Online: This class is for participants who would like to expand their knowledge on making extra money online while avoiding scams. This course requires a basic knowledge of the internet. It touches on basic business concepts, but is not a business course and is open to everyone. July 28-29, 9:00am—12:00pm
