The Town of Silver City is accepting applications for the position of Children’s/Youth Services Librarian.
Responsibilities include: planning, organizing, directing and managing all aspects of children’s library services to meet the objectives identified in library planning documents, and community needs, expressed or perceived. Planning, organizing, and conducting library programs for children and youth from infancy through age 18.
Requirements include: NM Class D Driver’s License; favorable criminal background check; NM Librarian Certificate – Grade II, or ability to pass the next NM State Librarian Certification Grade II Exam within 6 months; Bachelor’s Degree required. Prefer a Masters of Library Science or current enrollment in a Masters of Library Science program (may be substituted with equivalent combination of education and experience); two years experience working with children’s library services, children’s literature and reference resources, preferably in a public library; supervisory experience preferred.
